Planning the Brief

After thinking and researching other videos of Justin Timberlake we found out that they didn't really use a number of locations depending on the music video and the picture it was trying to portray to the audience. For example, the original music video for Cry Me A River didn't have that many different locations, because it was filmed in a house and then there was a car outside with  Timberland, the one who was featuring in the music video who had some ad-libs in some parts of the song, mainly at the end of the song. This gave us and idea to have an extra person within the music video to do the ad-libs to add something outside the story line which was similar to the original music video.
For locations, we chose to film the video within our town and to try. We used the Water Gardens for the start of our videos then chose the drama room for in school for another setting then decided to use a public area for the last part.
We didn't really have much of a budget for our music video so we had to use what we could find which was helpful. Especially using the last location which was up town with people around to help make the scenario look more realistic.
Also Andre Goodwin's Theory of how videos tell a narrative and how they usually show genre characteristics helped us to have a better picture of how the music video would be filmed and about the story it would tell.
