This type of is more of an R&B genre than pop because Justin Timberlake normally does a mix of pop and R&B. This is normally a favourite of the thr R&B lovers and the audince that listen to him are usually of a younger group(15-20), however his recent music can also be targeted to a wider audience(15-27). This music videos is targetted at both males and females because there's normally a stereotype that only men cheat and in this video it has proven that some women do cheat and they'll be in the wrong
According to the Andrew Goodnwin Theory, the original music video did follow the rules of Andrew's Theory rather than go against it, which did make sense to make it like that otherwise if the lyrcis did contradict the music video it wouldve been slightly confusing due to how the song was produced.
In our music video we also decided will demonstrate genre characteristics, usually a male and female in the video, as well as a large background for the most part except for when a story will narrated within a music video. we also decided that there will be some dancing within the music video to give that edge of R&B and something different to the music video.
We mainly chose this genre because it was very similar to our music taste as we like R&B and music along the same lines as R&B or even Hip-Hop. We thought to make Hip-Hop music video but we then just settled with something we were more familiar with which was Justin Timberake's Cry Me A River(even though it took us ages to decide!)
